Structured Wiring Buying AdviceStructured wiring allows for intelligent
linking of various systems within your home. This system
allows multiple computers in your home to share the same
resources, like printers or high-speed cable or DSL Internet
connections. With a structured wiring system, you can even
listen to music or watch your online video in any room of the
house! Custom electronics installer can help people to install
a complete range of structured wiring system for the
residential building fast and easily. Imagine having the most
comprehensive security system imaginable, complete with motion
sensor-activated surveillance cameras that transmit signals to
any household TV when someone gets near your home. You can
also set up and modify your own telephone system that can
differentiate any home or business phone requirements.

There are plenty of structured wiring products people can
select according to their preferences, such as whole house audio
packages with multi-room distribution and complete communications
packages (telephone, video intercom, TV) that make the walls come
alive with home theater, computer networking, communications, and
security possibilities.
In July of 2000, the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) designated the minimum requirements
for telephone wiring in new construction. Wiring cables are
classified by categories according to use and capacity as determined
by the Electric Industries Association and the Telecommunication
Industry Association. These associations have also developed
standards for cabling. Category 3 wire was selected by FCC as the
minimum standard. However, many consumers have stronger networking
needs to meet their more and more desire to have data transferred
faster and safer. And it is also used for interconnecting computer
system components, remotely controlling home security or HVAC
systems, or perhaps increasing their video entertainment
capabilities.
Structured wiring systems have become
increasingly popular to meet those consumer demands. These systems
often use a Category 5 (or better) cable for voice and data and RG6
coaxial cable for video information transfer. Fiber optic cable is
also available, but many regard the installation as more difficult
and expensive for ordinary home use.
Wiring installed in the
home may not be the limiting factor in terms of data transfer. While
utility and cable companies are constantly upgrading their systems,
not all areas of the country may offer high speed internet. Because
changing the wiring system in a home after initial construction may
be difficult and expensive, planning ahead and installing a better
system may be a wise choice. Additional products exist on the market
which allows computer users to bypass the need to hardwire a home
network. Wireless routers, costing a lot less, may seamlessly
communicate with computers, printers and other components.
The higher the Category of wire, the more people have to pay
for it. However, material costs may not be the major cost component
for a particular structured wiring installation. In many
applications, the marginal cost to run a higher capacity data cable
and video cable may be relatively small, making Category 5 (or
higher) cable a better choice than a lower rated cable.
Buying Suggestions: Before buy your structured
wiring system, ask for opinions from professionals and ask them to
measure and calculate then decide what you are going to choose. Make
sure select one of the pre-configured panels or create a custom
configuration by selecting the voice/data/audio/video modules to
perfectly match your individual requirements. Compare and select the
cables and wall plates to match with your snap-in connectors.
